Objectives of Care for the Institute of Special Surgery

  1. To provide ambulatory surgery for generally healthy, non-emergent patients, who do not require hospitalization.
  2. To provide cost effective patient care that is service oriented and reflects the needs of our medical staff to be able to provide their desired level of care.
  3. To assist patients in meeting their psychosocial, economic, spiritual and physical needs, recognizing that each patient is an individual.
  4. To reduce the patient's psychological stress associated with surgery by providing a calm, relaxing environment.
  5. To provide the most comprehensive progressive response, to meet the pre-, intra-, and post-operative needs of each patient.
